I used to lie awake at night before you found me
Trying to imagine change before I got too drowsy
Soon my thoughts were drained from trying to see your face,
Trying to feel your arms around me, trying to fill that space.
Now that you’re mine I find I’m scared
That the first time I’m myself I’ll be compared
To ten million other people that are much better than me.
So I step back and tell myself, “I must be lucky.”
And the words sound strange. I’ve never used them before
I never had a reason. You’re what I was waiting for.
And as cliché as it is to bring up fate,
I just have to say, you were worth the wait.

Too rhyme-y, right? Any suggestions???
